Quoted in NSW Firearms Registry documentation, "From 5 July, 2023, Permits to Acquire a Firearm (PTA) will now be available to be issued digitally to all customers with a Gun Safe account."
In short, your PTA comes to you in the form of an email notification, cutting out the wait caused by the traditional mailing out of a form.
If your PTA is issued, the Firearms Registry will send you an email advising your PTA has been issued and can be accessed digitally through the Gun Safe Customer Portal. If you do not have a Gun Safe account, you will receive your issued PTA through the mail.
